Flooding occurred early Monday evening in northern Texas County and led to the evacuation of nearby Montauk State Park. There were no reports of injuries.
Heavy rain fell on the area. The Licking Fire Department was called to assist after roads in the area became covered. The problems were related to hydroplaning and vehicles stalled in the middle of water on roads, the department announced. The Texas County Sheriff’s Department and Missouri State Highway Patrol also were called to assist.
At Montauk State Park, campers left the area after water rapidly rose. Officials said the water level hit 3.6 feet on the gauge at the dam at about 11:55 p.m. Monday. The water rose fast: An estimated two feet in less than 30 minutes due to the large amount of rain north of the park, officials there said.

The Missouri Department of Transportation is not showing any highways closed Tuesday morning.
