Members of the Texas County Commission handled several matters during meetings Sept. 4 and 5.
Members:
- Reviewed and acknowledged the hiring of Devin Cook as a full-time jailer effective Sept. 9.
- Reviewed and acknowledged the hiring of Hannah Robinson as a full-time jailer effective Sept. 11.
- Reviewed and acknowledged teh “at will status” as no longer needed for Trenton Shelton as a full-time jailer effective Aug. 29.
In other business, commissioners heard from:
- The maintenance department on facilities, lawnmower issues and a bid for an HVAC job.
- Grant Wilson, Congressman Jason Smith’s office, on township and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) concerns.
- Don Stilley, Upton Township, on issues with Turley Road and FEMA.
- Jeff Malam, Pierce Township, with an update on FEMA progress.
