Members of the Texas County Commission handled several matters during meetings Sept. 18 and 19.

Members:

  • Reviewed a FLAP progress invoice for the Paddy Creek project.
  • Discussed getting county issued credit cards for county offices. Erin Smith, circuit clerk, questioned the commission on a credit card for jury duty lunches and county banking.
  • Reviewed and acknowledged the hiring of Tyler Sheppard as a full-time jailer effective Sept. 18.
  • Reviewed and acknowledged the hiring of Jordan Crowley as a part-time employee in the collector/treasurer’s office effective Oct. 2.

In other business, commissioners heard from:

  • Multiple citizens concerning Senate Bill 756.
  • David Scantlin with Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) updates.
