Heavy rain began falling on the area on Saturday night into Sunday across Texas County.

The area is under a flash flood warning until 7 a.m. Monday.

Rain gauges overflowed. Inside the city limits, most measured around 5 inches.

The Big Piney River swells out of its banks early Sunday west of Houston. About 5 inches of rainfall was received in the city, according to most reports. The rain closed highways and left damage to roads and driveways in the county. For most of the day Sunday, Texas County was under a flood warning after the heavy rainfall that began Saturday night and continued into Sunday.
