Joyce Davis, age 83, passed away at home, Friday, May 3, 2024, at 9 p.m. in Hannibal, Mo.
She was born July 27, 1940, in North Platte, Neb., to Walter Avery and Elsie Blevins. Joyce married Marvin “Nelson” Davis on March 4, 1960, at the Christ Lutheran Church in Albuquerque, N.M. They were married 57 years until Nelson’s passing Dec. 26, 2017.
Joyce is survived by two daughters, Brenda Rippeto and Connie Smith (Dennis); three sons, Wayne Davis (Penny), Everett Davis (Robbin), and Boyd Davis (Cassie); as well as 20 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Carolyn Hendrickson and brother, Byron “Butch” Grover (Pam). She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Nelson; and grandson, Mark Davis.
Joyce owned Joyce’s Fabric, Bridal, & Drapery in Houston, Mo.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 8 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Hannibal, with burial following at Grand View Burial Park. Pastor Anthony Schindler, whom she dearly cherished, officiated the service.
The visitation was held Wednesday from 9:30 to 11 a.m., at the church.
The family is being served by the James O’Donnell Funeral Home of Hannibal, Mo.
