A Plato native has been named as a hospital chief executive (HCE) in New Mexico.

Before his current role, Wade was the HCE for Presbyterian Santa Fe Medical Center, where he worked with leaders to establish an intensive care unit and expand primary care during the pandemic.

Jon Wade will serve in the post at Presbyterian Hospital and Presbyterian Kaseman Hospital in Albuquerque, N.M., effective April 15.
Since joining Presbyterian in 2020, he has collaborated across the organization to improve quality and safety outcomes, reduce turnover and expand programs to meet care needs.
During his 18 months as the HCE at Presbyterian Rust Medical Center (RMC) in Rio Rancho, N.M.,  he partnered with leaders and teams on several critical initiatives, including reducing average length of stay, establishing the first orthopedic hospitalist program, reducing nursing turnover to the lowest in three years and implementing an around-the-clock catheterization lab.

Wade’s parents are Ormsby and Sherline Wade, lifelong Texas County residents. He is a 1989 graduate of Plato High School.
