STANLEY LAMONT DEAN

Stanley LaMont Dean, age 82, passed away Oct. 8, 2019, at his home in Houston, Mo. He was born April 21, 1937, to Malcolm and Edith (Jones) Dean in Sheridan Township in Dunn County, Wis.

He grew up on a farm near Colfax, Wis. As a teenager he worked on a farm near Barron, Wis., and later hauled turkeys for Jerome Foods.

Stan moved to Kenosha, Wis., as a young man and worked for American Motors for about 30 years. He married Shirley Bernard on Jan. 20, 1969.

They went to Mackinac Island and Stan worked as a tour guide. He drove horses and greatly enjoyed telling people about the island and the horses.

In 1990 Stan and Shirley moved to a small farm near Houston, Mo., and operated a liquor store. Stan loved his farm and all his animals. In 2016 they sold their farm and bought a house in Houston.

     Stan is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Lorraine Raven; and a brother, Joe Dean. He is survived by his wife, Shirley of the home; daughter, Sharon (Lloyd) Ricks; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Elaine Wilbright of Rochester, Minn., and Betty Christie of Kemmer, Wyo.

A memorial service is at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, at Evans Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry Lippstreu officiating. Cremation was under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
