Two Texas County children were injured in an accident .5 miles west of Macomb on Saturday, July 27, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

Two Raymondville children were injured late Saturday afternoon in a crash west of Macomb on U.S. 60, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

Cpl. Justin Piccinino said a westbound 2003 GMC pickup driven by James Scudder, 53, of Sparta, struck in the rear a 2017 Jeep Wrangler operated by Chad A. Jenkins, 41, of Raymondville.

Two passengers in the Jenkins vehicle — Hayden M. Riggs, 1; and Eva M. Snider, 6 — received minor injuries and were taken by ambulance to Texas County Memorial Hospital. Neither driver was injured, Piccinino said. Everyone was restrained in the vehicle at the time of the 4:45 p.m. accident.

The Jeep had moderate damage, and the pickup was totaled, the patrol said.
