The Summersville branch of the Texas County Library’s summer reading program begins July 1 with a visit from a former astronaut.
Col. Thomas Akers, who was associated with the space shuttle program before his retirement, will attend the 1 p.m. program. The theme is “Universe of Stories.”
Participants also will make their own “out of this world” sundae.
The summer program is 1 p.m. each Monday and Friday in July.
