Emergency response personnel assist the driver of a truck, Mark E. McDonald, 60, of Rolla,  that was involved in a two-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon on U.S. 63 near the Hog Creek bridge. 

A Rolla man was injured Thursday in a two-vehicle crash south of Houston at Hog Creek, the Missouri State Highway Patrol. 

Tpr. Justice Simpson said a southbound 1996 Ford Ranger driven by Mark E. McDonald, 60, of Rolla, struck a southbound 2017 Dodge Ram 3500 pickup operated by Roger L. Scott, 60, of Sullivan, that was attempting to make a left-hand turn. 

McDonald, who had moderate injuries, was taken to Texas County Memorial Hospital by ambulance.

Simpson said both drivers were wearing seat belts. The Dodge had extensive damage. The Ford was totaled. 

On the scene were responders from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Houston Rural Fire Department Rescue Squad, Texas County Sheriff’s Department and two ambulance crews. 

A dog in the McDonald truck was to be examined by a Houston veterinarian.
