BERNICE FAYE WALKER SKAGGS

Bernice Faye (Walker) Skaggs was born to Mabel (Collins) Walker and Rollie

Walker on the 9th day of February 1932 in Bucyrus, Mo. She passed away on the 22nd day of June, 2019, at Willow Care Nursing Home in Willow Springs, Mo.

    Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence Skaggs; two sons, Junior and Dennis; sister, Viola Shelton; brother, Fred Walker, and one grandson, Dustin Skaggs.

    She is survived by three children, Angela Massey and husband Clinton of Salem, Laura Crowley and husband Kevin of Houston and Rollie Skaggs and fiancée Luci Smith of Bucklin; daughters-in-law Jeanie Skaggs of Indiana and Debbie Skaggs of Houston; lots of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Don Walker of Arizona; two sisters-in-law, Linda Walker of Houston and Lucille Skaggs of St. Louis, and many nieces and nephews.

    Bernice grew up and lived in the Houston area most of her life.

    On Sept. 20, 1950, she was united in marriage to Lawrence Skaggs. She was a stay at home mom most of her adult life. She loved church, gardening, flowers and cooking for her family. Yard sales and playing with grandchildren were of particular delight to her!

    Bernice will be missed by family and friends but she is with Jesus rejoicing now!

    Services were Wednesday, June 26, at 10 a.m. in Evans Funeral Home.

Pastor Bill Kelly and Pastor Clinton Massey officiated with burial in the Murr Cemetery, Bendavis, Mo. Pallbearers were Travis Rader, Taylor Lybyer, Spencer Lybyer, Stuart Lybyer, Zane Massey and Beau Massey. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Unit, Willow Care Nursing Home, Willow Springs.
