Members of the Texas County Commission acted on several personnel issues during meetings Oct. 31 and Nov. 1.
The commission learned:
•Malachai Adams resigned effective Oct. 13 as a corrections officer. Wes Perryman as a deputy resigned effective Oct. 15. Marnie Murphy was hired Oct. 15 and Brandon Swindle on Oct. 15 as corrections officers. Taylor Lee was terminated as a corrections officer on Oct. 11 and Alex Flores fired as a corrections officer on Oct. 16.
Members:
•Terminated Mark Douglas from the maintenance department and are seeking a replacement.
•Entered into a contract with Spearpoint of Houston to conduct an active shooting training on Nov. 8.
•Visited Nov. 1 with Scott Jones of Liberty Technical Solutions of Marshfield to discuss computer server updates, archiving and phone service.
•Discussed having their attorney draft a letter to the food provider at the jail that it was ending its service.
•Heard from Richard Wood of Houston about a proposed Community Improvement District to benefit Texas County Memorial Hospital. Wood opposes it.
•Adjourned into a closed session to discuss personnel.
