More than 150 people attended the Miss Texas County Pageant on Saturday inside the Melba Performing Arts Center in downtown Houston.

Allie Campbell, who received “The People’s Choice” award during a pageant Saturday involving contestants ages 3-12.
Sponsored by the Miss Texas County Pageant Board, the event was the first of its kind held at the refurbished Melba, which opened in December 2017.
The evening show featured three title winners: Angelia Luna won Miss Texas County, Amelia McKinney was named Miss Texas County’s Outstanding Teen and Sophia Senkel took Southern Missouri’s Outstanding Teen honors. The young women competed in categories including interview, talent, evening wear, on-stage question and lifestyle fitness. The winners of these titles will go onto the Miss Missouri competition next June in Mexico, Mo.
During an afternoon session, Allie Campbell was selected as “The People’s Choice” involving contestants ages 3-12 years, who answered on-stage questions and displayed their talents, party dresses and American Spirit outfits of their choice. Afternoon contestants were awarded with a crown and sash and a goodie bag.
“We appreciate all our sponsors, volunteers, contestants and community for supporting our event,” said pageant organizer Shari McCallister.
