The Houston Police Department recently handled several investigations.

The following are excerpts from reports generated by the Houston Police Department:

•An officer was dispatched at about 4:40 a.m. June 8 to a Thomasville Road apartment regarding a report of a man being beaten with a baseball bat.

Upon arrival, the officer observed a man standing in the parking lot of the apartment complex, and a woman standing in front of a door to one of the units. The man reportedly told the officer the woman had struck him several times with a bat because she didn’t want him to leave her.

The woman then stated she hadn’t hit him with a bat, but had brought it outside the apartment to defend herself and keep the man from entering.

Neither person wanted to complete a written statement or pursue charges. They were advised of the 12-hour rule.
