The following are excerpts from reports generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:

•A 67-year-old Plato man called June 16 to report property damage at the Plato Cemetery on Pisgah Road.
An investigating officer observed that an ATV had been doing donuts in the cemetery driveway. Two 16-year-old boys are suspects.
•A deputy was dispatched at about 1 p.m. June 14 for a well-being check of a man, woman and their kids at a Mineral Drive residence at Houston. The officer didn’t find anyone home and checked with neighbors who claimed they hadn’t seen the people in question.
•A 60-year-old woman called June 15 to report that her 24-year-old son had been assaulted at her Mallard Drive residence at Licking.
The alleged victim told an investigating officer that a 21-year-old man came to the house at about 3 a.m., and when he opened the door, the visitor beat the daylights out of him. The man claimed he had been knocked unconscious, and been punched in the eye, cheek and lower jaw. He said he could not open his left eye.
The officer observed no redness on the man’s face or any other sign that he had been punched, and his eye displayed no swelling.
The deputy asked the man why no call to the TCSD was placed until 4 a.m. if the incident took place at 3 a.m., and the man reportedly replied it was because he couldn’t wake his mother.
•A 75-year-old man came to the TCSD office on June 7 to report property damage at the Union Cemetery at Cabool. The man stated headstones were turned over, flowers at graves were destroyed and flags at veterans’ graves were torn up.
•A 47-year-old Houston man reported on May 24 that several items with a total value of $1,950 had been stolen from his Highway E residence, along with a Pontiac sedan of unreported value. The man named a 60-year-old Houston man as a suspect. Investigation continues.
