The following are excerpts from reports generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:
•A 47-year-old Houston man reported a prowler at his Sommerset Lane residence at about 8:45 p.m. March 14.
The man said he believed a neighbor man was on his property. An investigating officer determined the neighbor was incarcerated in the Texas County Jail and was unable to locate a suspect.
•A woman called at about 6:30 p.m. March 17 to report that a man was at her Highway 181 residence at Cabool wanting to fight several other people who were there.
An investigating deputy made contact with a man at the home who stated the woman had taken the suspect to the Cabool city limits and the officer was no longer needed.
•At about 4 a.m. March 18, a 34-year-old Houston man reported that another man was trying to kill him with a knife at a Highway E residence.
A deputy and multiple Houston police officers made contact with the alleged victim, and he stated the other man was trying to kill him and would vanish. He also said he had been using drugs and wasn’t sure if the incident had actually happened.
An officer made contact with the suspect, who was asleep and said he didn’t know what the other man was talking about.
•A 20-year-old woman reported a trespasser at her father’s Pigeon Creek Road residence at about 5:20 p.m. March 13.
The woman told an investigating officer her boyfriend had fired a shot into the ground, and the suspect had driven away fast in a vehicle. The woman stated her father said law enforcement wasn’t needed because he had forgotten he had given someone permission to be on his property.
•A 27-year-old Licking woman reported on March 13 that she is a foster parent and her foster child’s biological mother had threatened her and was on the way to the woman’s Highway C residence. The woman said she didn’t want a deputy to come to her house, she just wanted the incident documented in case the suspect actually showed up.
•A 79-year-old Bucyrus woman reported at about 9 p.m. March 14 that her 83-year-old husband had gone outside to cut wood and hadn’t returned.
A deputy and a pair of Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers searched the area and located the man at the back of the property. He told the officers he was fine, but he wasn’t able to walk on his own and had several cuts on his hands that were bleeding.
The man was taken back to his residence where he stated he wished to go to a hospital to be checked out.
•A 29-year-old Licking man reported at about 1:30 a.m. March 17 that his 30-year-old girlfriend had assaulted him at his Highway 32 residence.
The man told an investigating officer he and the woman had been drinking at a bar and he had left when she began dancing with other men. He stated she followed him home and they got into a heated argument, at which time she punched him in the face, threw him to the ground and kicked him several times.
The man at first indicated he wanted to pursue charges, but then changed his mind.
