A Houston woman was seriously injured Saturday afternoon in a crash southeast of her hometown.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said a northbound 1999 Ford Explorer driven by Teressa R. Shriver, 40, overturned, ejecting the driver on Highway DD. She was taken to the Houston Memorial Airport, where she was airlifted by medical helicopter to Cox South in Springfield. Lilly R. Shriver, 2, had minor injuries and was taken by private vehicle to TCMH.
Cpl. Terry Nelson said both were unrestrained.
The vehicle was totaled. Assisting at the scene was the Houston Rural Fire Department Rescue Squad.
Editor’s note: A relative reports Emily Roberts, 11, also was in the vehicle and was treated and released at TCMH with Lilly, who she also reports is 5, not 2.
