Ebin Smith placed in the Piranha Pentathlon on Oct. 1 in Springfield.
A member of the Seymour Sharks, Smith won honors in:
• 100-yard backstroke, first, 1:16.24.
• 100-yard breaststroke, second, 1:28.11
• 100-yard freestyle, second, 1:07.10.
He competes in the boys 13-14 division. Smith is the son of James and Erin Smith.
