The following accidents were reported by the Missouri State Highway Patrol:
• A Thayer teenager was killed Saturday afternoon in a construction zone accident north of Edgar Springs on U.S. 63. A Cabool resident was involved in the three-vehicle crash.
Northbound vehicles driven by Nicholas Myslinski, 32, of Plainfield, Ill., and Ricky L. Ramos, 62, of Cabool, were stopped in construction when a 2001 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Kristopher A. Kerwin, 18, of Thayer, failed to stop and plowed into the rear of the Myslinski Ford F-250, causing it to strike Ramos’ SUV.
The Malibu traveled off the right side of the roadway, and the Myslinski vehicle went off the left side of the roadway.
Sgt. S.D. Altermatt said Kerwin was pronounced dead at the scene by the Phelps County coroner. Myslinski had moderate injuries and was transported to Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla. Ramos’ injuries were not known.
The patrol said all were wearing seat belts except for Kerwin.
• A Houston woman was hurt Friday in a crash at Raymondville. Tpr. Marty Wiseman said a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am driven eastbound by Terri L. Hall, 57, was stopped on Highway B to make a turn and was struck in the rear by a 1999 Dodge Intrepid operated by Vera A. Taylor, 81, of Raymondville.
Hall was transported by ambulance to Texas County Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
Wiseman said both vehicles had moderate damage. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
• Brent O. Darnell, 51, of Hartshorn, was injured last Thursday afternoon in a three-vehicle wreck involving two tractor trailers in Howell County. Darnell was taken by private vehicle to Mercy St. Francis Hospital following the 1:54 p.m. accident on Highway 17. He had moderate injuries.
The patrol said the wreck occurred as a northbound 1994 Peterbuilt drive by Larry W. Martin, 67, of Summersville, and southbound 2000 International driven by Lyle S. Cooley, 53, of Willow Springs, struck mirrors. Cooley’s vehicle lost its cargo and struck the southbound 2008 GMC Sierra drive by Darnell.
Martin and Cooley were uninjured. All three men involved were wearing seat belts.
The truck Darnell was driving was totaled. The tractor trailers had minor damage.
• Michael P. Rainwater, 18, of Mansfield, was injured early last Thursday morning when the vehicle he was driving ran off U.S. 60 near Cabool. He was traveling westbound at 1:50 a.m. when the 2015 Nissan Versa he was operating ran off the left side of the roadway, crossed a concrete culvert, traveled through a fence and struck a creek bank. The wreck was one mile east of Cabool.
Rainwater was taken by ambulance to Texas County Memorial Hospital.
• Two Houston residents were injured last Wednesday night when they were ejected from a vehicle on Brushy Creek Road. Lane A. Haley, 16, had moderate injuries and George J. Wink, 23, had minor injuries from the 7:51 p.m. single-vehicle accident one mile east of Houston. Neither were wearing seat belts.
Wink was traveling westbound, the patrol said, when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck an embankment and overturned. Both Wink and Haley were ejected. Haley was taken by ambulance to Texas County Memorial Hospital. Wink was seeking his own medical treatment.
The 1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse that Wink was driving was totaled, the patrol said.
• Shawn L. Robinson, 30, of Summersville, was injured last Tuesday morning when he fell asleep while driving. He was driving northbound three miles north of Summersville on Highway 17 when the 8:10 a.m. accident occurred, the patrol said. The 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer he was operating ran off the left side of the roadway and struck a fence and tree.
Robinson, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken by private vehicle to Texas County Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. The vehicle had extensive damage.
