The following are excerpts from reports generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:

• A deputy responded at about 8:50 p.m. Sept. 20 after a 76-year-old man reported a truck parked in the roadway on Varvel Road at Willow Springs. The officer was unable to locate it.

• A deputy responded at about 3:15 p.m. Sept. 15 regarding a report of a meth lab at St. Anna Drive at Plato. The officer made contact with a woman who was camping at the location who said she didn’t know anything about it. The officer searched the area and found nothing.

• A representative of the Missouri Department of Transportation reported on Sept. 21 that a 20-foot long by 30-inch wide piece of gray plastic pipe valued at $661 had been stolen from a location on Highway AN at Success. There are

• On Sept. 16, a deputy responded to a request by the Houston Police Department with a property damage case at S&S Package Store in Houston.

A police officer told the deputy a vehicle had run into the store and an employee believed the driver was a man who lived on Brown Hill Road. The deputy went to the suspect’s home and determined his vehicle had no damage. The man stated he had been home all day.

• A deputy on Sept. 16 responded to a report of property damage at a Hunter Drive residence at Summersville. An 82-year-old man who lives there told the officer a bus he uses for storage on the property had been broken into and a small butane burner and cast iron lead smelting pot had been stolen. There are no suspects.

• A deputy responded on Sept. 12 to a report from Intercounty Electric Cooperative that electricity was being stolen at a Dorman Drive residence at Licking.

The officer made contact with a 23-year-old man who lives there who showed the officer where the meter base had been jumped. During the investigation, the officer determined a black dove tail trailer valued at $2,000 and an air compressor valued at $500 that were both at the scene had been stolen from a Hartshorn

The items were seized and returned to their owner, and a probable cause statement was sent to the county prosecutor seeking theft charges against the man.

• A 32-year-old Houston woman reported on Sept. 12 that an air-conditioning unit valued at $400 had been stolen from her Highway B residence at Raymondville. The woman told an investigating officer she believed the man who is her landlord swiped it.

• A 68-year-old Licking man reported on Sept. 11 that a Troy Bilt pressure washer valued at $500 had been stolen from the porch of his Shafer Road residence. There are no suspects.

• A deputy responded at about 4:10 p.m. Sept. 13 to a report of theft at a Stillhouse Road residence at Mountain View.

A 58-year-old woman who lives there told the officer a GMC pickup and several other items with a total value of $3,125 had been stolen. Two men were identified as suspects and investigation of the case continues.
