• The monthly meeting of the Texas County Republicans, 7 p.m. at the Houston Senior Center. Potluck dinner at 6 p.m. Angie Quinlan, executive director of the Houston Area Chamber of Commerce, and Tona Bowen, Houston’s city administrator, are the guest speakers.

SEPT. 22

• The annual HHS homecoming parade arrives in downtown Houston at 2 p.m.

• The 2017 HHS homecoming queen coronation is at 6:30 p.m. prior to the HHS football game.

SEPT. 23

• The Houston Alumni Association breakfast, 7 a.m. at the Houston Senior Center.

• Drive 4UR School, 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. at Romines Motor Co. Ford will donate $20 to the Houston R-1 School District for every test drive.

• The Houston Area Chamber of Commerce’s Pumpkin Festival, 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. in downtown Houston. The event will include a classic car cruisein, pumpkin bake-off, vendors, food, displays and more.

• The annual Miss Texas County Pageant will be held at the Houston Area Chamber of Commerce Fairgrounds. The afternoon sessions begins at 1 p.m., followed by the evening session at 6 p.m.

• The HHS alumni mixer is 2 p.m. inside Hiett Gymnasium.

SEPT. 24

• Fleet Reserve Association Branch 364 & unit meeting, 2:30 p.m. at the American Legion Hall.

SEPT. 26

• TCMH board meeting, noon at the hospital meeting room.

• Village of Plato board of trustees meeting, 7 p.m. in the meeting room at Legacy Bank and Trust.

• ViFraternal Order of Eagles #3911 Auxiliary meeting, 7:30 p.m. at aerie south of Houston.

SEPT. 27

• Houston High School is hosting a blood drive from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. inside Hiett Gymnasium. To be eligible to give blood, participants must weigh at least 110 pounds, be in good health, and present a valid photo ID.

SEPT. 28

• SMTS medical van to West Plains is taking appointments from 10 a.m. 2 p.m. Call for more information, 800-392-0754.

• Texas County Health Department board meeting, 3 p.m. at its building on U.S. 63, north of Houston.

• Houston Area Chamber of Commerce board meeting, 4 p.m. at the Visitors Center.

• Houston Citizens for Education meeting, 7 p.m. at Houston High School library.
