The Houston Alumni Association is holding events today following Friday’s Houston High School homecoming.
On Saturday, a 7 a.m. alumni breakfast was held at the Houston Senior Center. A mixer follows at 2 p.m. at Hiett Gymnasium, where at 3 p.m. there will be reports from alumni and on the organization’s scholarship program.
The Houston Area Chamber of Commerce will sponsor Pumpkin Festival with a variety of events running from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. in downtown Houston. Sneak preview tours of the work at the Melba Theatre also are planned. The Houston Rural Fire Department is holding its fourth annual poker run beginning at 10 beginning at Pizza Express on South Sam Houston Blvd.
One event benefits the Houston Schools today: Romines Motor Co. is hosting its seventh annual Drive 4UR School to benefit the district. Over the years, much-needed equipment has been funded.
Beginning at 11 a.m. Sunday, the Houston Lions Club will host a fish fry at the community building at the fairgrounds.
