Members of the Houston City Council heard that its annual routine audit uncovered no issues, and the city’s financial condition is good.
The findings were discussed Monday during a meeting of the council. KPM CPA, a Springfield concern, reviewed the town’s accounting procedures and finances for 2016. The opinion included the day-to-day financial records of the city and its administration of various grant funds.
In other matters, members:
—Approved the second and final reading of an ordinance that rezones portions of West Highway 17 to spur business growth.
—Okayed a conflict of interest statement to comply with state law.
—Approved the application of a Landmark Bank-issued credit card for city use.
