The Licking Fire Department was called to a brush fire shortly after noon Friday.
The blaze – which was 50 yards from a structure – was at 11559 Reed Road.
Firefighters from Houston and Roby were called at about 1:15 p.m. Friday to a woods and field fire at 8844 Highway 17. (North of Miller Road)
At about 2 p.m., the Plato Fire Department was called to Highways U and 32, where a natural cover fire was reported.
At about 2:15 p.m., a grass fire was reported south of Houston at 6415 U.S. 63.
At about 3:30 p.m. Friday, a woods fire was reported at Golden Springs and Road Valley roads. (22835 Current Drive). Both Summersville and Clear Springs departments were called.
At about 5 p.m. Friday, the call went out to the Tyrone Fire Department to respond to a field fire near Longview and Roberts roads.
Houston firefighters were called at about 7:50 p.m. to a U.S. 63 field fire just south of the city limits.
At 10:30, the Licking Fire Department was called to 13661 Highway C near Pigeon Creek Road for a field fire.
At about the same time, Houston was called to U.S. 63 near the Indian Creek Bridge after a report of a small grass fire.
