A group that organizes safe and supervised events for Houston High School students following prom and graduation each year is seeking community support.
“Celebration for Life” said plans are underway for this year’s activities following prom and graduation. Approximately 90 students are graduating in the class of 2017.
Project prom and project graduation events cost thousands of dollars to host. Previous activities have included volleyball, basketball, swimming, games, bowling, movies, hypnotist, inflatable obstacle courses, roller-skating and themed parties. Food and transportation are provided and many prizes are handed out.
Individuals, businesses and organizations can contribute financially or by giving prizes. Donations should be sent to: Houston Celebration for Life, P.O. Box 275, Houston, Mo., 65483.
Officers for the organization are: Tara Valk, president; Lisa Malam, vice president; and Tamma Floyd, secretary-treasurer.
