Texas County’s unemployment rate increased to 7.6 percent in August, reports the Missouri Department of Economic Development.
The rate was six-tenths of a percentage point higher from the previous month.
In the south-central Missouri region, the average was 7.4 percent.
The county’s civilian work force was 9,253 with 705 unemployed.
Area counties and their unemployment rates were: Douglas, 7.5; Howell, 7.2; Shannon, 8.1; and Wright, 7.2.
