A Bucyrus man has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in the September 2015 death of a Licking woman in a crash at Simmons.
Sean Rief, 28, is charged with involuntary manslaughter – alcohol, second-degree assault, DWI, operating a motor vehicle on the highway without a valid driver’s license and failing to display plates on a vehicle.
He is held on $500,000 bond in the Texas County Jail.
Authorities said Reif was driving a vehicle that crossed the centerline and sideswiped a motorcycle operated by David Mathis of Cabool, who lost a limb in the accident.
The Rief vehicle then struck a car operated by Amber M. Brignole, 30, of Licking. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Rief is to appear for an arraignment June 21 in Texas County Circuit Court.
