The following are excerpts from reports generated by the Houston Police Department:
•Tyler L. Cook, 23, of 11039 Wye City St. in Success, was arrested Feb. 21 for having an active Texas County warrant for possession of a controlled substance.
An officer made the arrest after a traffic stop at about 1 a.m. on Airport Road. A computer check revealed the warrant.
Cook was taken to the Texas County Jail, where he was unable to post $75,000 bond.
•John M. Murphy, 34, of 506 W. Highway 17 in Houston, was issued a citation for stealing under $500 on Feb. 9 after allegedly pushing a shopping cart loaded with $491 worth of goods out of the store without paying.
•Darrell L. Brim, 51, of 16381 Sand Shoals Drive in Bucyrus, with cited for driving while intoxicated after a traffic stop on U.S. 63 at about 11 p.m. Feb. 13
An officer made the stop after observing a green Chevrolet Blazer moving erratically. After making contact with the driver, Brim, the officer observed that he had bloodshot, watery and glassy eyes. Field sobriety tests were conducted, and Brim was taken to the Texas County Jail for a 6-hour hold period.
•Dustin L. McLard, 29, of 7464 Highway 137 in Houston, was issued a citation for driving while suspended after a traffic stop on U.S. 63 at about 12:05 a.m. Feb. 13.
An officer made the stop after observing a broken taillight on a Ford Taurus. A computer check revealed that McLard’s license was suspended.
•An officer was dispatched to the parking lot at Town and Country Supermarket on U.S. 63 at about 9 p.m. Feb. 12 regarding a report of a minor in possession of alcohol. After an investigation, a citation for minor in possession was issued to Jonathan L. Hunter, 17, of 9607 Creek Road at Raymondville.
