Oscar “Hank” Will, III, editorial director of Mother Earth News and Grit magazines, will be the keynote speaker at the Bringing Back The American Small Farm conference Jan. 28 and 29 at the West Plains Civic Center.
Patrice Jennings with Ozark Farmers Co-op, the local non-profit organization organizing the event, said that the topic of Will’s discussion is how to increase income through specialty agriculture, changing methods, improved marketing and finding the right crops.
The purpose of the conference is to help small farmers and those using the land by sharing instruction on how to contribute to your regional food supply using land resources available whether it is a backyard garden area or 100 acres, according to group officials.
Representatives of Houston-based Missouri Sun Solar wil conduct an hour-long seminar during the event.
