A Houston man faces charges after he was seriously injured Tuesday morning in a crash east of his hometown.

Tpr. Marty Wiseman of the Missouri State Highway Patrol said a westbound 2001 Pontiac Sunfire driven by Jonathon D. Heady, 48, ran off the right side of the road, struck an embankment and overturned.

Heady, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken by ambulance to Texas County Memorial Hospital.

Heady is charged with DWI, misdemeanor possession of up to 35 grams of marijuana, careless and imprudent driving, no insurance, driving while suspended and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

Assisting at the scene on Ridge Road about three miles south of Houston were Cpl. Curtis Haden and Tpr. Stacy Crewse.
