A regional organization that protects babies from the weather as cooler temperatures arrive is seeking assistance from the public in the endeavor.
The Newborns In Need Ozark Chapter is collecting sleepers during a drive in September. The goal is 200 new sleepers in sizes 0-18 months. Last year, 179 were collected.
The chapter delivers to nine county health departments as well as hospitals in the surrounding area. The group also dispenses free clothing, quilts, receiving blankets, onsies, diapers, toiletries, pacifiers and small toys to babies of low income families and those families in crisis.
Newborns In Need is a nonprofit organization. Donations are tax deductible. Ninety-five percent of monies raised goes to programs and services.
