The following are excerpts of reports generated by the Texas County Sheriff’s Department:
•A Cabool woman called just after midnight June 2 to report that two of her dogs had been stolen from her Highway Z residence.
The woman stated that on the previous day, a woman driving a white van had struck one of her dogs with the vehicle. She said she believed the same woman returned and swiped her other two dogs.
The dogs were a mix of Chihuahua, dachshund and Pomeranian.
•A deputy was dispatched at about 8:10 p.m. June 3 regarding a report of a burglary at a Wagner Road residence at Willow Springs.
A 29-year-old woman who lives there told the officer she returned home from work to find that someone had broken into the home and swiped numerous items with a total value of $1,042.25 (including a compound bow valued at $400, a Marlin .30-.30 rifle valued at $350 and 30 pounds of deer meat valued at $247.95). Investigation of the matter continues.
•Coty E. Shelton, 23, of 1022 Prairie Road at Bucyrus, was issued a citation for animal trespass after several cows he owns were reportedly loose and destroying the yard at an 88-year-old man’s Millstone Road residence in Houston.
An investigating officer reported that Shelton had been warned multiple times in the past about maintaining better control of his cows.
•An 85-year-old Cabool man reported on June 2 that five guns with a total value of $1,600 had been stolen from his Cessna Road residence. There are no suspects.
•A 45-year-old Mountain Grove man reported June 6 that a Dodge truck he owns had been damaged while parked at his Clary Road property and that $2,700 cash had been swiped.
The man is an over-the-road truck driver and told an investigating officer that when he returned home from a run, he found the damage to his vehicle and the money missing. He named his 37-year-old girlfriend as the only possible suspect.
A report was sent to the county prosecutor.
•A man called June 2 to report that a bobcat had attacked his dog at his Brown Hill Road residence. The man was advised to contact the Missouri Department of Conservation.
•A deputy was dispatched at about 7:20 p.m. June 6 regarding a report of vicious dogs at a Roby Road residence at Plato.
A woman who lives there told the officer two dogs tried to attack her, but she escaped harm by climbing into her car. The officer was unable to locate the dogs.
•An officer was dispatched at about 1:10 a.m. June 4 regarding a report of a property dispute at a Highway U residence at Cabool.
A woman who lives there told the officer her son was trying to sell her dad’s property and she wanted him arrested. The officer advised the woman she had an active warrant for her arrest. She was arrested and taken to the Texas County Jail.
•A 43-year-old Raymondville man reported June 3 that someone had driven a vehicle through the front yard of his Brushy Creek Road residence and run over several rose bushes, hit two fence posts and struck a small windmill. The man named a 41-year-old neighbor man as a suspect.
•From about 2 a.m. to 3 a.m. May 31, lawns were damaged on three different properties on Waldrup Road at Summersville.
An investigating officer reported that large ruts were cut in the lawns by what appeared to be a small wheel-based vehicle. A 58-year-old man who called in one of the reports stated he heard a vehicle “doing donuts” in his driveway at about 3 a.m., but by the time he reached the door he only saw the vehicle’s taillights heading down Highway 17.
At one of the homes, gravel thrown up by the vehicle reportedly caused about $1,200 worth of damage to a set of French doors, and had broken a sliding back window in a truck.
The officer reported questioning three teenage boys about the incident. Investigation of the case continues.
•Bobby W. Williams, 21, of 11927 Mallard Drive at Licking, was issued a citation after allegedly threatening a woman at her Mallard Road residence.
An investigating officer reported that when Williams was taken to the Texas County Jail, he was intoxicated and threatened to assault the officer. A probable cause statement was sent to the county prosecutor.
•A deputy was dispatched at about 2:20 p.m. regarding a report of a bear in a tree at an Old Salem Road property at Licking. The officer was unable to locate it.
