Texas County Relay for Life — set for Friday — has been postponed, organizers announced Monday afternoon.
Additional details are expected to be released. Some type of event is still planned, said Courtney Furgerson of the American Cancer Society.

Earlier: Texas County Relay for Life is Friday at Lone Star Plaza in Houston.
The event — which benefits the American Cancer Society and has teams competing against each other — runs 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., organizers aid Monday. (Work is under way at the Houston High School football field, where traditionally the event has been held).
