Longtime downtown Houston businessman Wilburn Elmore received a surprising call from police Thursday night: A vehicle jumped the sidewalk and hit his Elmore’s Men’s and Boys Wear building at Pine Street and Grand Avenue.
The Houston Police Department was on the scene assessing the situation. Witnesses said a small vehicle hit the northeast corner of the building. Shortly afterward, several persons were pushing the car onto Grand Avenue.
No one was injured, and a portion of a plate glass window in the storefront was broken.
