Houston police handled two cases during the last week.

The following are excerpts from reports generated by the Houston Police Department:

•Nyla A. Gutierrez, 18, of 501 Broadway St. in Houston, was issued citations May 20 for minor in possession of alcohol by consumption and failure to obey a police officer.

Gutierrez received the possession ticket after an officer observed three people standing next to a Pine Street business at about 12:30 a.m. The officer had minutes earlier responded to a report of a peace disturbance at a nearby location and stopped to ask the trio if they had any knowledge of it.

The officer then noticed Gutierrez was having trouble keeping her balance and had slurred speech. She then admitted to drinking “a bunch of vodka” at a friend’s house.

The officer cited her, drove her home, and told her to remain there for the night or she would be cited for failure to obey.

At about 3:30 a.m., the same officer observed Gutierrez walking westbound on Hawthorn Street. She was ticketed again and taken to the Texas County jail for a 12-hour hold period.

•Nicole B. Lewis, 18, of 725 Highway 17 in Houston, was issued a citation for property damage after allegedly punching a hole in the screen of a man’s projection TV at his Highway 17 residence at about 12:30 a.m. May 13.
