•The holding company that owns Air Evac — the leading provider of air ambulance services in the country — is being acquired by funds managed by KKR, a leading global investment firm. Air Medical Group Holdings transports more than 75,000 critically injured patients through a fleet of helicopters and airplanes. Headquartered in Lewisville, Texas, the company’s Air Evac roots started in West Plains.
•From the mailbag: The Stars Foundation at Cabool has announced performances of Disney’s “Little Mermaid” on 7 p.m. April 17, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. April 18, 7 p.m. April 24 and 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. April 25 at the Star Theatre in Willow Springs. Tickets are $5 in advance and $6 at the door….Also at the Star Theatre at 6:30 p.m. Friday: “His Girl Friday,” a 1940s classic starring Cary Grant will be shown. Historian Lou Wehmer also will present a program.
•So where will gas prices be during the summer travel season? An industry group — gasbuddy.com — thinks current trends will bring the price down to the lowest summer gasoline prices since 2010, but the short term outlook may vary based on the region of the country.
Including the change in Missouri during the past week, prices Sunday were 109.9 cents per gallon lower than the same day one year ago.
