Several area churches are planning special services on Easter Sunday, April 5.
Among celebrations planned in the area are:
- First Baptist Church, 1241 Hawthorn Ave., Houston: Simon Peter will present his story from a small-time businessman to a world-changer for God beginning at 10:45 a.m. Special music also is planned. For more information, call 417-967-2297.
- United Methodist Church, 422 Hawthorn Ave., Houston: There will be a sunrise service at 6:30 a.m. following by a potluck breakfast in the fellowship hall. For directions to the service, contact the church office at 417-967-2372. The morning worship service will begin at 10 a.m.
- Faith Fellowship, 7804 Highway 17, Houston: “Sunday Is Coming” is the theme of the service, which begins at 10:30 a.m. Along with contemporary and traditional worship, there will be a drama performance and message from Pastor Bill Villapiano celebrating the greatest event in history. - United Methodist, 151 Junction St., Raymondville: A sunrise service will be held at Golden Hills Lake. The morning worship service begins at 10 a.m.

Ozark Baptist Church, 17490 Ozark Road, Houston: 8 a.m. sunrise service following by breakfast at 8:45 a.m. The Easter service begins at 11 a.m.
