Mercy will consolidate clinics in Shannon County. A clinic in Summersville will remain open four days.

Mercy is closing a clinic in Eminence in the face of economic headwinds.

Mercy Clinic Family Medicine – Eminence will permanently close after Monday, June 30. Every co-worker from that clinic will move to Mercy Clinic Family Medicine – Birch Tree, which will then begin operating five days a week, up from the previous two. Physician assistant Mike Gaddy will relocate permanently to Birch Tree on a full-time basis. While many of Gaddy’s patients already live in Birch Tree, Mercy encourages others to transfer and take advantage of the expanded hours.

“We’ll be offering the same high quality and compassionate care you’ve come to expect,” said Patty Goforth, practice manager. “We’re all working to ensure the transition for patients is as seamless and easy as possible.”

The Birch Tree clinic is 13 miles from Mercy St. Francis Hospital in Mountain View, so trips to get X-rays or testing, or pick up medicine from the pharmacy, will also be much shorter if patients need to make that trip. “It’s good to remember the hospital is also a great hub for emergency needs for the entire region,” added Goforth.

Mercy also offers a clinic in Summersville that is open 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.
