Jaret Holden

A Summersville High School student was named the 2014-’15 state FFA vice president representing Area 13 at the 86th annual Missouri FFA Convention.

Jaret Holden’s Supervised Agricultural Experience Program consists of 20 head of beef cows that he markets as feeder cattle. He also works on his family’s farming operation and owns and runs an Internet radio station, Fusion FM KKOP.

Holden has served as chapter president and vice president of the Summersville FFA and as treasurer and secretary for the Area 13 FFA Association. Holden has participated in FFA knowledge, floriculture, nursery landscape and advance prepared public speaking career development events. Holden’s floriculture team placed first in the state.

Holden was named chapter Star Greenhand and Star Farmer. He received proficiency awards in agricultural communications and beef production. As an avid trap shooter, Holden was recognized on the national level as an AIM All-Star and he was selected to the Missouri State Trap Team on the state level.

Holden has been elected class president and has served as vice president and president of the student council. He is part of the A+ program at his school and has participated in trapshooting, quiz bowl, cross-country, basketball and jazz band. Holden was selected to the Cooperative Youth Conference and Leadership Experience Program in Jefferson City. He also is actively involved at his church.

Holden plans to study broadcast journalism at the University of Missouri. After graduation, he plans to continue his production agriculture operation and his Internet radio station.

Holden’s adviser is Bill Holden and his parents are Bill and Janet Holden.
