A Houston City Council member resigned Tuesday because she is moving from her ward.
Sharon Sillyman made the announcement during a meeting of the Houston City Council. She plans to reside in another ward.
Mayor Don Tottingham will appoint a replacement to serve until the next municipal election in April.
