Fire swept through a building late Tuesday night at a Licking manufacturing business.
Firemen from departments throughout the region responded to Current River Pole Co. off West Highway 32 at Licking. At about 10:30 p.m. a fire was reported in one of the Staples Lane buildings at the business, which makes utility poles, posts and bagged wood shavings used for animal bedding.
It’s the second fire there in the last two years.
Nearly every fire department from the county and some surrounding ones were called to the scene, which is situated just east of the South Central Correctional Center. Damage was reported extensive in one building.
A principal in the business is Tony Parks, a Houston man.
Fire investigators are expected to be on the scene today.
