A Cabool teen was hurt Saturday, Oct. 24, in a crash north of his hometown.

A Plato teenager was injured Friday night when her westbound vehicle ran off Highway 32 in her hometown and struck an embankment.

Tpr. Marty Wiseman of the Missouri State Highway Patrol said Emily L. Kinsman, 16, was taken to a Fort Leonard Wood hospital with minor injuries following the accident.

Wiseman said the 1998 Ford Taurus received extensive damage, Kinsman was wearing a seat belt, he said.

Four persons were injured Friday afternoon in a U.S. 63 crash at Simmons, the patrol said.

Cpl. Dale Pounds said a northbound 2007 Dodge Dakota driven by Melvin R. Kirkwood, 53, of Houston, had slowed for another vehicle to make a left turn. The Dodge was struck in the rear by a northbound 1993 Lincoln Town Car operated by Joshua C. Brooks, 25, of Winona.

Four persons in the Brooks’ car were taken by ambulance to Texas County Memorial Hospital: Aerial Brooks, 22, the driver and two children, Keleigh R., 4; and Levi C., 1. Emergency personnel reported that the woman was pregnant.

Both vehicles had extensive damage, Pounds said. Everyone was wearing a seat belt.

Assisting at the scene were Sgt. George Falterman, Tpr. P.R. Wells and the Texas County Sheriff’s Department.
