Copper was stolen from two sites in Houston during the last week.

Twice last week, officers with the Houston Police Department responded to reports of theft of copper and other materials from commercial locations.

An officer was dispatched at about 7:20 a.m. Nov. 26 to a construction site at Texas County Memorial Hospital, where a representative of JE Dunn Construction stated that numerous copper items, with a total value of $2,338 had been stolen.

On Nov. 28, an officer was dispatched at about 9 a.m. to the CenturyLink property on Second Street in Houston, where a representative of the company said that sometime between 5 p.m. the previous day and 8 a.m. that morning, someone had cut a chain on a entry gate and swiped wire, cable and other items with a total value of $4,651.

There are no suspects in either case, but investigation of both continues.
