A Houston man received four citations after fleeing from an officer into a neighborhood, authorities said.

After a Missouri Division of Family Services worker called the Texas County Sheriff’s Department on Oct. 18, deputies were dispatched to an Amburn Road residence at Raymondville regarding a report of a 47-year-old woman and her 6-year-old daughter being held against their will by a 47-year-old man.

When officers arrived, they saw the suspect wearing a gray sweatshirt, blue jeans and a gray and white baseball cap run from the home to an area behind a barn. The man reportedly didn’t stop despite several warnings from officers.

The man, who is wanted on a felony warrant and is known by authorities to have a gun, was not located after a search of the area. However, officers did find another man hiding behind some old doors in a barn, but it was determined that he had permission to be there. He stated he was hiding because he had been scared by all the commotion.

An investigating officer later contacted the DFS worker who had called in the situation, who said the woman involved in the case had stated she and her daughter had in fact not been unwillingly held, and that the TCSD would again be notified if any follow-up was needed.
