The following are other matters recently dealt with by Houston police:
Aug. 8
—Amber D. L. McKinsey, 18, of 209 Forrest St. at Mountain Grove, and Megan J. Clark, 18, of 3726 Gravel Point Road at Mountain Grove, were each issued citations for stealing under $500 after being caught attempting to shoplift at the Houston Walmart, according to a report.
Aug. 11
—Miguel E. Moreno Espinoza, 26, of 712 Chestnut St. in Houston, was issued a citation for stealing under $500 after allegedly swiping a 16-year-old girl’s cellular phone.
Aug. 18
—Katrina A. Martin, 27, of 3787 Shady Grove Road at Cabool, was issued a citation for stealing less than $500 after being caught attempting to shoplift at about 4 p.m. at the Houston Walmart, according to a report.
Aug. 20
Calvin L. Massey, 43, of 608 Ozark St. in Houston, was issued a citation for driving while intoxicated (drug condition) following a traffic stop on Bryan Street at about 11 p.m.
An officer made the stop after observing a red jeep Cherokee drive through the parking lot of a gas station to avoid the traffic light at the intersection of South Sam Houston Blvd. and Highway 17.
After making contact with the driver, Massey, the officer noticed erratic behavior and conducted field sobriety tests, according to a report. Massey admitted to having taken prescription medications. He was taken to the Texas County Jail.
Aug. 23
—Jessica L. Matthews, 28, of 8052 Mineral Drive in Houston, was arrested for having an active Texas County warrant for operating a vehicle owned by another knowing the owner had not maintained financial responsibility. An officer made the arrest after observing Matthews at Walmart and being aware of the warrant.
Aug. 26
—Dustin W. Wells, 26, of 19850 Highway 32 at Licking, was issued citations for driving while intoxicated, driving with a suspended license and speeding after a traffic stop on U.S. 63 at about 1:30 a.m.
An officer observed a maroon Ford Explorer rapidly increasing its speed and then getting a reading of 71 miles per hour on a radar unit. After making contact with the driver, Wells, the officer smelled alcohol and conducted field sobriety tests. A computer check revealed that Wells’ license was suspended. He was taken to the Texas County Jail.
