The investigation continues into a western Texas County domestic dispute that involves alleged assault by a girlfriend’s father, authorities said Monday.
Texas County Sheriff’s Department and the Missouri State Highway Patrol become involved in an Aug. 3 incident that occurred at Highway MM.
In a sheriff’s department report issued Monday, an officer reported that a 42-year-old Mountain Grove man had stated that his girlfriend had stolen his cattle loan money. When the deputy arrived at the scene, the girlfriend reportedly stated she was leaving and would return the man’s money when she got of her belongings back. The man told the officer that during a dispute before the arrival of law enforcement officers, a vehicle driven by the girlfriend’s father had struck him and he was thrown up on its hood.
A MSHP trooper who responded first to scene ended up citing the man for possession of marijuana. Troop G was reportedly still investigating the incident early this week.
