A 59-year-old Cabool man was injured last Thursday when a medical helicopter crashed on a hangar roof at Pomona.
The Bell 206B force landed on the roof and sustained substantial damage. Lawrence A. Fuller, 59, was taken to Ozarks Medical Center and was treated and released, according to West Plains police.
An Air Evac spokeswoman reported that the chopper had just undergone routine maintenance and was piloted by the mechanic at about 4:43 p.m. The mechanic was doing a post-inspection ground run when the aircraft inadvertently lifted its stationary position and struck the hangar, according to the spokeswoman. She added that the company does not believe the helicopter is repairable.
