Pace Construction has notified the City of Houston that it plans to return to Grand Avenue on Thursday to complete an asphalt overlay.
Last week employees performed grinding of the roadway to lower the surface in some places before asphalt work is completed.
If the work is completed as scheduled, motorists will need to use side streets to avoid the project.
