Ronald Kramer of Raymondville announced his candidacy for the Texas County Commission.
Kramer is the current president of the Texas County Democrat Club. He is a graduate of Lafayette-Jackson High School in Ohio and attended Ohio State University and Lima Technical College.
A retired auto industry worker, Kramer spent 40 years with Ford Motor Co. He was employed at the Lima, Ohio, engine plant and was in intra-plant quality control.
He was married to Carolyn Rose Hefner for 37 years, and the couple had five children. After her death in 1995, Kramer married the Rev. Maggie Erbe. He is the stepfather of 10 children.
Kramer is a member of Raymondville United Methodist Church, Raymondville Christian Men and the Southwest Missouri White River Water Quality board and is a former member of the Raymondville Fire Department board. He formerly held both an insurance license and a real estate license in Ohio, and he owned an excavating and landscaping business.
In Ohio, Kramer also spent time as police chief in the Village of Lafayette and was a volunteer firefighter for the Lafayette-Jackson Fire Department. He was also road commissioner and councilman for Lafayette Village and is a nationally registered EMT-I.
Kramer’s background also includes being Midwest Regional Ambassador for Relay for Life, Allen County (Ohio) Soap Box Derby director, a member of the Lima, Ohio, Jaycees and an AQHA member.
