A Missouri state trooper holds a can of spray paint while marking off the site where a logging truck lost control and crashed Thursday afternoon on Highway 17 about east of Houston.

A truck carrying a load of logs lost control Thursday afternoon and fell on its side alongside Highway 17 about three miles east of Houston.

The truck went off the edge of a shoulderless section of the highway and fell over at the bottom of a steep embankment.

Tpr. Dale Pounds of the Missouri State Highway Patrol said Glenn A. Losh, 70, of Licking, was the driver of the 1997 Peterbilt. Losh, who wasn’t wearing a seat belt, was taken to Texas County Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries.

Personnel from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the Texas County Rescue Squad and an ambulance crew from Texas County Memorial Hospital responded.

The vehicle was totaled, Pounds said.
